The convention committee is finalizing the hotel for our 6th Annual Convention to
be held in the Chicago area for 2010. The dates have been finalized to be August
13th, 14th and 15th. You would be arriving by the 12th evening and leaving on the
15th afternoon. We want to give you the biggest and best Convention ever. These
dates are especially planned for members with younger kids during the Summer Vacation
before the school reopens. Please mark the days on your calendar and maybe add the
week before or after to enjoy the various attractions in the Chicago area. We are
talking to three institutions regarding CME certificates and sponsorships. Dr. Deeptha
Nedunchezian will be helping us with approaching the pharmaceutical Companies. We
are still recruiting additional members for the convention committee and assigning
different subcommittees. We thank Dr. Rajeswari Chandran for serving as our Treasurer
for the past 2 yrs and Dr. S. Chandran for the support all the way. We are looking
for a new Treasurer starting in Jan.2010.

After completing a successful first 10 months with 51 new members, this year has
been slow. Our recent Chapter meeting was held on May 9th at Lincoln Center, Downers
Grove, IL. a western suburb of Chicago. Our Speaker was Dr. Narmadha Kuppusamy who
gave us a grand presentation about “Menopause and Hormone replacement therapy revisited”.
We had about 30 people attending. Dr.C.K. Palani did an update on current ATMA activities.
Dr. F. Xavier Roche has been installed Lifetime Treasurer of our Chapter. We have
one new Associate member, Mrs. Sasireka Dharma. Variety entertainment by local artists
was well received. We made just enough money for the meeting expenses.

We had our last chapter dinner meeting on November 22nd of 2008 in Chicago. ATMA
President Dr. Athi Narayan was the chief guest. Dr. Kris Anand talked about Irritable
Bowel Syndrome and Dr. Anuradha Divakaruni talked about CAD in Women. There were
about 70 members with families who attended the meeting. Among which 12 of the members
were new to ATMA. All the attendees enjoyed the live music, karaoke and dances and
enjoyed the company of each other”.
